Pants On Fire - UX/UI and Branding
Politics on social media is a constant occurence in today's politically charged environment. It's mostly a constant sea of noise full of lies, extreme bias, uneducated opinions, and pure B.S. Users should be willing to and should have the proper tools to call out voal inaccuracies whenever they occur, and there needs to be an easily accessible way to catch vocal liars with their pants on fire. Pants On Fire strives to be the contextual spell-check of politically charged statements by providing truth, clarity, and accountability to a sea of political noise. This is achieved by utilizing modern technology to provide an easily digestible score for users to use on any social media platform. Users submit politically charged text or public links of politically charged posts to the Pants On Fire app, the app analyzes the text/link, and after the app determines context to the text in the post, it compares that contextualized data to vetted sources. Pants On Fire then provides a 1-5 score based off of how comparatively truthful the contextualized data is. The Pants On Fire app then provides a link which can be posted in relation to the original post (either via comment, re-tweet, etc.) and this link contains meta links for user to follow in order to learn more about the contextualized data found in the post. By providing an easy way to determine the legitimacy of someone's politically charged post, users are held more accountable for what they or others decide to publicly share on social media. Also, by providing easily accesible sources to contextualized statements, Pants On Fire creates opportunities to inform users through vetted sources. This will, in time, increase the value of truth and accountability, and in turn, reduce the amount of inaccurate, extremely biased, uneducated, and B.S. vocal opinions on social media.
